Temple Educational Society established a school under the name Temple of Learning for the 10 + 2 standard in the year 2007, which was affiliated with the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur, and recognized by the Govt. of Manipur. Since inception, the school has produced 13 toppers and more than 2000 students of 10 + 2 standards. The Society also has the willingness to establish a college for higher studies so as to enable the students who hail from the families of low-income groups and rural areas of Manipur to get admission. 

As per available records, there are 13 government colleges having 10 + 2 courses, 33 non-government colleges having 10 + 2 courses, 27 government higher secondary schools, and 67 non-government higher secondary schools in the state. Altogether, 140 institutes are offering courses for the 10 + 2 standard. A large number of students passed out from these institutes to go outside the state for further study, which creates a lot of burden for the families. The proposed TOL Degree College is surrounded by 44 higher secondary schools. In the state under COHSEM and CBSE, every year around 40,000 students have appeared for the 10 + 2 standards. However, there are very few premier colleges/institutions that can render good-quality education to the students who have the ambition for good quality but could not go beyond the state because of their family condition. Moreover, the existing colleges/institutions could not absorb the above passed-out 10 + 2 students. In view of the above facts, the college is willing/intending to impart better quality education to the students with degree courses.

Considering the needs of the hour to absorb the changing scenario in the State, like the emerging Free Trade Zone, the Look East/Act East Policy, industrialization, and the promotion of entrepreneurs, the management courses are highly required. To fill up a part of the above gaps in the State, the Institute has introduced BBA, BCA, B.A., and B.Sc. courses from the year 2018-19.
